GERO-4014EL – Practicum and Thesis

This course is intended to activate in students the motivation, critical thinking skills and level of confidence necessary to conduct gerontological research in an area of interest to them for which appropriate faculty supervision is available. Specifically, this course will facilitate the completion of a thesis and help to prepare students for entry into practice or graduate school. Students will learn how to develop a research idea, how to look for important and useful sources, how to write a proposal, how to design the research and collect the necessary data and how to present the results, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner. PREREQ: GERO 2016, 2017, 3126, 3127, 3016, 3017, 3107 (exp, lec) cr 9.
