MIDW-3425EL – Interdisciplinary Maternity Care

The focus of this course is on developing skills for interdisciplinary practice; knowledge of other health care providers scopes of practice and roles in the maternity care system, variations of normal during pregnancy, labour and birth, and the postpartum; and common interventions and complications. Students should be able to apply research findings to clinical situations in their placement (MIDW 3415) and in class. Clinical scenarios will be used for tutorial discussions with faculty tutors. Care management competencies will be developed through the use of an on-line care management workbook. PREREQ: MIDW 2004. COREQ: MIDW 3415. cr 6
