This course introduces students to the basic concepts of polymer chemistry. Topics will include polymer chains, bulk polymers and their mechanical behaviour, viscosity, elasticity, viscoelasticity, glassy and crystalline states, important classes of polymers and polymerization reactions, techniques of polymerization, and polymers with microstructures. PREREQ: CHMI 2426 and ENGR 2026 (lec 3, tut 1) cr 3.
