THEA-3246EL – Theatre History III

This course is an in-depth study of the performance and production dramaturgy of modern theatre from the Romantic period to realism. Emphasis will be placed on the multiplicity and mixtures of staging conventions within the contexts of shifting political and economic ideologies and the influence of the visual arts and music. PREREQ: THEA 1115 or permission of the instructor. Students may not retain credit for both THEA 3246 and THEA 3245. (lec 3) cr 3.
