Builds upon the knowledge, concepts and skills learned in SPAD 1016. The focus shifts to the private for-profit sector and the globalization of sport. Topics include: professional sport leagues, corporate partnerships with professional sport, sport service providers, international sport organizations (single sport and multi-sport), professional sport industry workers, sport tourism, and sport as entertainment. Attention is given to the social and economic impacts of the sport industry on society as a whole, on women and minority groups. PREREQ: SPAD 1016. Restricted to students in the SPAD program.
