This upper-level seminar will examine theo¬ries, practices and research in the sociology of children and youth. Students interested in the education and/or health of children and adolescents will find this course particularly relevant. The course will allow students to explore and critique the ways in which societ¬ies relate to, treat, teach and communicate with children and youth. Particular attention will be paid to understanding contemporary cultures of childhood and youth. (lec 3) cr 3
