RLST-2365EL – Religion in Film

Critically examines films from various genres in order to isolate themes such as death, evil, guilt, fate, alienation, love and redemption. Students view and analyze representative films from classic and current popular cinema, selected because of their use of religious ideas and symbolism. Students also view and learn to interpret the films of significant directors who address important religious and philosophical questions in their work. May count as 6 credits in English.
