Dynamical diseases are characterized by sudden changes in the qualitative dynamics of physiological processes, leading to abnormal dynamics and disease. Linear and non-linear time series analysis and bifurcation theory are used to understand the mechanisms behind the pathological rhythms of dynamical diseases. New diagnostic and therapeutic techniques are emphasized. PREREQ: PHYS 1006/7 or PHYS 1206/7 or PHYS 1211/12 or equivalent (lec 3) cr 3
