This course emphasizes the personal meaning of health, health-related assessments and health maintenance. Learners examine significant theoretical and conceptual frameworks of health in relation to self and family. A clinical experience takes place in health care settings with a focus on well elderly. A community clinical experience takes place in the context of a resource family. By reflecting and reconstructing personal and professional experiences, learners have the opportunity to identify resources and challenges that impact health and recognize the complexity of the change process as related to health promotion and caring.
