NSWK-2315EL – The Helping Relationship/Indigenous Social Work

This course introduces intervention with individuals and families. It explores the relationship between social analysis and social work intervention, and the importance of viewing work with people in a social, political and economic context. It also includes sections on social and case analysis, communication and interviewing skills and other issues related to direct social work practice. This experiential class includes the development of audio and video recordings to increase self-awareness and the development of skills through role-playing. PREREQ: Admission to the Professional Years of the program. (lec 2, exp 1) cr 6.
