NATI-2616EL – Canadian Native Literature: Exploring Genre

This course introduces students to the great diversity in themes, voices, genres and writing styles of Canadian Native writers through the study of myths, legends, essays, poems and short stories. Often influenced by mythical and oral traditions, these writings provide insight into the cultural complexity of ideas, socio-political thought, celebration and spirituality in historical and contemporary contexts.
