MIDW-1057EL – Becoming A Midwife

This is a small group seminar course where students will be introduced to knowledge and skill competencies associated with the practice of midwifery. The learning experiences are varied. Through lecture, problem based learning, role play, workshops, and hands-on experiences, students will have an opportunity to develop interpersonal and communication skills as well as labour support techniques, health assessment and breast feeding assistance. Students will apply competencies through active participation in a virtual clinic. PREREQ or COREQ: MIDW 1056 and BIOL 2105. (sem 3) cr 3
