JURI-3416EL – Law and Popular Culture

This course focuses on the study of law in relation to modern western culture and cultural forms such as music, cyberspace and street art. Traditional concepts such as property, identity, privacy and jurisdiction have to be reconsidered and reconfigured in view of rapid transitions in social technologies and social change. The interdisciplinary study of existing and emerging socio-legal forms of everyday life reveals fertile new questions, considerations and concerns about identity, interaction, consumption, regulation and power.
