HIST-4305EL – Revolution and Reform in British North America

This course is an in-depth examination of the major political, social, religious and cultural forces shaping British North America from the beginning of the American Revolution in 1775 to the achievement of responsible government in central Canada in 1849. This course is particularly concerned with situating the history of British North America in a wider perspective: examining how events in Britain, the United States of America and France shaped the development of the colonies.
