This research course, which may involve an essay of up to 50 pages, requires the student to carry out research in primary sources. PREREQ: approval of the department. Students are only permitted to take HIST 4055 if they have a minimum average of 70% in the previous 42 credits of history courses and an overall average of at least 60%. Students who do not meet the above entrance requirement will complete 6 additional credits at the 4000 level, chosen in consultation with the chair. (tut 3) cr 6
