This course examines the origin, characteristics, meaning, and economic potential of carbonate sedimentary rocks, with emphasis on identification and significance of rock components, lithofacies analysis, interpretation of carbonate depositional environments and systems, diagenetic processes and products, carbonate stratigraphy and correlation, and sequence stratigraphic analysis.
