A thesis requiring independent research and the guidance of one or more faculty members. The subject is chosen by the student in consultation with the course coordinator and the supervising professor. Students are encouraged to obtain permission of their employer to use material gathered during the summer as a basis for the thesis. The thesis is defended orally and a final draft, suitable for defence, is normally submitted at least two weeks before the end of classes of the 2nd term.
