GEOG-2037EL – Introduction to Remote Sensing

This course introduces remote sensing (RS), image analysis and interpretation, as applied in the Earth and environmental sciences and for resource evaluation. Topics include the use of various forms of electromagnetic energy for characterizing the Earth’s surface features, an overview of modern RS systems for the collection of data at a variety of spatial, temporal, and radiometric scales, and a survey of applications of RS. PREREQ: ENVI 1507 and at least 3 credits of second year science courses or GEOG 1026 and 3 credits in GEOG techniques. (lec 3) cr 3. Students may not retain credit for both GEOG 2037 anf GEOG 3037.
