Explores the relationship between reading and writing at a basic academic level. The course helps students to develop skills essential to essay writing and critical reading. Some emphasis is also placed on practical exercises in diction, grammar and idioms. This course is designed to meet the needs of English-speaking students who require further preparation for university-level reading and writing. In the first week of classes, students will be required to demonstrate an appropriate level of competency in reading and writing English. This course does not count for ENGL credit.
