This course will study Rome as the most powerful and enduring empire to have ruled over the Mediterranean. The nature of the Roman leadership, the structure of the army, and theories of imperialism (ancient and modern) will be investigated. PREREQ: CLAS 1007 or 2057 or permission of the instructor.
